Lol hi photoshop!

Waaay back in 2003, (still can’t believe it’s a decade already. I was just 13 then!) ABS-CBN first aired the Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden and captured the hearts of thousands of people, including mine.

Nostalgic, yes?  I remember seeing this scene for the very first  time.  It was weird to see chinitos on TV since Mexican telenovelas were really popular that time. Thank God that it was televised during the summer break so luckily, I got to watch the first episode.  And that’s what started it all.  I didn’t care if people call me jologs or baduy, because I cannot deny the fact that I was (and still am) head over heels in love with the drama and with the cast. Joining the F4 fever was one of the greatest highlights of my fangirl life <3

I was supposed to talk about Meteor Garden and its comeback on TV but I can’t help but mention F4 and Barbie Xu.

Hua Ze Lei, my one true love

Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Vanness Wu, and Ken Zhou– I love all four of them but ZaiZai… Oh gawd, where do I even start?  I can go on and on about how much I love him but this can take forever! A decade ago, he wasn’t as hot (he’s sooo skinnny! it’s crazy) and he can’t act either.  But there’s just something about Hua Ze Lei and how Zaizai portrayed this character that I ended up falling in love with him.  People were fighting between who’s the better guy for Shan Cai but it has always been Lei for me.  All the way.  In all versions. *wink*

Buuut I love Jerry too! I still think he’s the hottest F4 guy (whoops sorry Vanness! :P) but bad boys aren’t really my type… 😀 I love Vanness and Ken too especially since they sing so well! Watch their Hong Kong concert so you’ll know what I’m talking about 🙂

So adorable!

And if you you know me well, you probably have an idea that Barbie Xu is my ultimate favorite Asian actress.  Or celebrity.  Like, ever.  It was love at first sight! I actually thought that she was Sadako because of her long, pretty hair.  I didn’t even know she was Taiwanese! LOL.

Anyway, back to the drama.  It was my dream to be a voice actor since “Si Mary at ang Lihim na Hardin” days and chinovelas brought back my love for dubbing.  ABS-CBN has the BEST voice actors for this drama and not only because it was the first network to dub it in Tagalog.  How can you not love Dao Ming Si, Lei, and Shan Cai’s Tagalog voices? I prefer subbed versions of dramas but Meteor Garden’s an exception.  I love both versions but the dubbed version holds a special place in my heart <3 If I’m not mistaken, the dubber for Shan Cai changed after a few episodes and it was perfect.  I haven’t heard her and Lei’s voice since then, though.  The dubber for Dao Ming Si, however, voiced so many lead roles after Meteor Garden so you’re probably familiar with his voice already 🙂

(Pirated *_*) DVDs released Tagalog versions of asianovelas  before but I can’t find the original ABS-CBN version.  So imagine my excitement when they announced that they’re going to bring it back!!! I might not be able to watch it, but still, knowing that I CAN still watch MG makes me so happy 🙂 And it looks like I’m not the only one since Meteor Garden’s trending up to now :)) Sometimes I wonder if twitter and tumblr existed during that time, then the world will be a better place.  LOL.

I can’t wait for it to start airing again.  Hopefully I can contain myself.  Watching the commercial is enough to make me cry, how much more if I see my beloved boys back on TV!

Oh baby, baby, baby.. My baby, baby… <3
